We are not contracted with any insurance companies with the exception of Kaiser. We do, however, provide you with itemized invoices that include all the information you will need to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.
Many of our clients also use Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), or Health Care Reimbursement Accounts (HCRAs), which allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for medical services not covered by insurance. Back to top
Some families have been able to get reimbursed by the school district for the private services that we have provided to their children. At this time, we do not contract directly with the school districts themselves. Back to top
Progress Reports are written at 6 month intervals, starting from the time that services with Therapista begin, or every 6 months based on the child’s birth date, or another schedule, as may be requested by you, to coordinate with their school or other providers.
Meetings/Travel
We are happy and eager to collaborate with members of your child’s intervention/medical team. You may request our attendance at meetings (doctor’s visits, IEP, etc.,) and we will attempt to arrange our schedule to be present when possible. Time attending meetings is charged at $120 per hour. We believe that vacations and holidays from therapy are often very beneficial to a child and their parents. Please just let us know as soon as possible if you have scheduled a vacation or holiday so that we may adjust our schedules. Schedule permitting, we can try to work with you to make up those missed sessions if desired. In cases of lengthy vacations (e.g. 1 month or greater) we may not be able to hold the therapist’s availability for your child, but we will be happy to accommodate them as soon as the therapist has another opening.
Likewise, our therapists also take personal vacation time. Visits that fall within that time period are generally not rescheduled. Back to top
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be billed at the full rate. Sessions cancelled with more than 24 hours notice may be rescheduled with no charge. However, we must ensure that the scheduled therapy sessions are consistent so frequent cancellations may result in termination of services in order to accommodate other clients. Back to top
Please be aware of our sick policy to ensure that you, your family, and our therapists stay happy and healthy! We often work with children that are medically fragile and we want to avoid being exposed to anything that could be passed along to another child. Please advise your therapist via phone as soon as possible if your child or someone in your household is suffering from a known contagious condition, has an unknown rash, has had a fever within the last 24 hours, is in the initial stages of a cold (likely to be contagious,) has been vomiting or has diarrhea related to an illness. It is important to inform your child’s therapist prior to the visit to avoid exposure “at the door”. We will also take the same courtesy and let you know if your therapist is ill and needs to cancel/re-schedule a visit. Back to top
