About Therapista
Therapista has served Bay Area children and families since 2001. Our organized systems and administrative support help providers focus on children and families. You’ll have substantial independence over your schedule and caseload, with support when you need it.

About the role
We’re hiring an Early Intervention Specialist or Infant Developmental Specialist to provide play-based developmental services to infants and toddlers from birth to three. Services take place in family homes and other natural environments.

You’ll support children’s communication, cognitive, physical, social-emotional, and adaptive development while helping caregivers incorporate strategies into everyday routines. Direct birth-to-three experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized services aligned with developmental goals and IFSP outcomes

  • Use play-based, routine-based, and relationship-focused approaches

  • Coach parents and caregivers

  • Monitor progress and complete documentation; most routine note-taking is built into session time

  • Collaborate with service coordinators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists

  • Participate in IFSP meetings, reporting, and transition planning

Experienced candidates may also choose to mentor other providers, offer case consultation, review documentation, and help shape our growing Infant Development program.

Who we’re looking for
Direct Early Intervention experience is welcome. We also encourage candidates from child development, early childhood special education, pediatric care, disability services, and closely related fields who have experience supporting young children and families.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, or a related field, or equivalent Early Intervention experience

  • Experience supporting young children and families, including children with developmental delays or disabilities

  • Ability to implement individualized developmental goals and document progress

  • Strong collaboration and independent work skills

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to family homes

Preferred qualifications

  • Direct birth-to-three Early Intervention experience

  • Parent coaching or home visiting experience

  • Experience with DAYC-2, HELP, or similar assessments

  • Bilingual ability

  • Mentoring or supervisory experience

Schedule and caseload
Choose a service area near your home, decline referrals outside it, and group appointments into your preferred working days. There is no minimum number of working days or weekly clients. Appointments are ordinarily scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work available if you want it.

New providers typically start with 3 to 5 active clients and build toward a full caseload of approximately 22 to 25 clients, or about five visits per full working day, within approximately two months. Therapista provides referrals to support that growth.

Benefits and support

  • Paid time off

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Flexible schedule

  • Paid travel time and $0.70-per-mile mileage reimbursement

  • Professional development assistance and tuition reimbursement

  • Retirement plan

You’ll receive structured onboarding, practical written training materials, ongoing mentoring, and responsive clinical and technical support.

What our clinicians say:

“This is probably the first job where I’ve felt like I could actually prioritize myself as a human.”

“I never feel overwhelmed because I’m in control of the size of my caseload.”

“Between the manageable caseload and the allotted documentation time, the workload is incredibly reasonable.”

“Communication is wonderful.”
